  • What does the monthly membership cover?
    The monthly membership covers excellent primary care by providing open access to our services. Feel free to visit us in our office, call us when you need us, text us, or email us. You can schedule your annual wellness exam, receive basic office procedures, and optimize your health while under our care. Our members will also have access to at-cost laboratory testing services as well as whole-sale medications.
  • Is there a sign-up fee to join?
    There is no sign-up fee. Just sign-up for the monthly membership, enroll in the easy monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual payment system and start accessing great care. It’s that simple.
  • Does Authentic Family Medicine see patients of all ages?
    At this time Authentic Family Medicine can only see patients up to age 64. We are unable to care for Medicare eligible members at this time due to government regulations.
  • What if I decide to cancel my membership?
    We understand that your needs may change, and we want to help you through whatever transitions you're making. If you need to cancel, we would appreciate a 30 day notice. If you sign up for a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual term and decide to cancel, your remaining balance will be refunded without a hassle.
  • What does the membership fee cover?
    The fee covers excellent primary care through annual wellness exams, sports physicals, school physicals, basic office procedures, treatment of acute illness or minor injuries and ultimate access to your doctor, all with minimal wait times in the office. Our members also have access to wholesale labs and generic prescriptions.
  • What about treatment for chronic pain or anxiety?
    Chronic pain and anxiety are serious medical problems that require specialized training to properly dose, monitor and manage pain and/or anxiety treatment. Also, government agencies are requiring more regulations for physicians who prescribe anxiety and/or pain medications. For these reasons, Dr. Corum does not prescribe, or manage, long term pain or anxiety medications.
  • What if I'm hospitalized?
    Patients will be cared for by a hosptialist in the hospital of their choice. Dr. Corum will resume care as patients transition out of the hospital.
  • Are my medical records ever shared with insurance carriers or government agencies?
    No. Patient privacy is a natural benefit of this medical model. We will never provide any third party with a copy of your records, unless you specifically ask them to do so or if we are subject to subpoena or search warrant.
  • What if I need medical attention while I'm away from home?
    In the age of telemedicine, many conditions can be diagnosed and treated via a simple conversation by phone or webcam. If appropriate, we will locate the nearest pharmacy and order medication most suited for your circumstance. If you need to go to the hospital or seek other medical attention while away from home, we can advise you on that as well.
  • May I contact Dr. Corum after hours? How?
    Absolutely, yes! It’s how we do custom healthcare. After normal office hours our members can reach Dr. Corum via cell phone communication.
  • Do I still need insurance?
    The direct primary care model and Authentic Family Medicine is not insurance. You will need insurance coverage for specialty care and hospitalization.
  • What if I want to continue my current insurance? Can I use it?
    Not for services.
  • If I have Medicare, can I join as a patient?
    Unfortunately at the present time do to government regulations we can not accept medicare patients.
  • What does the membership cost?
    Age 0-17 $30 with a Parent Member Age 0-17 $50 per month** Age 18-39 $50 Age 40-64 $80 Age 65+ Unfortunately, currently not available due to government regulation. A membership agreement with Authentic Family Medicine is not health insurance. **Without a fully enrolled adult member
  • May Health Savings Account funds be used to pay the DPC membership fee?
    Unfortunately the short answer is No. The IRS currently views the DPC monthly periodic fee as a "health plan," just like a standard monthly health insurance premium is viewed as a "health plan." According to the IRS the DPC monthly membership fee is thus a second "health plan" and the amount is not a qualified HSA expense.
  • Can an (FSA) Flexible Spending Account be used for DPC monthly fee?
    Yes , an FSA can be used for the DPC monthly fee.
